A wonderful spring photo session with Toronto Dancer and Lolë clothing

My favorite photo from our shoot. Lole Athletic Clothing Shoot, Old Mill, Toronto
This is an overdue blog, as life and photography have been constantly on the go since this photo session. In spring, the talented Gabriella De Bartolo and I worked together with Lolë athletic wear for a photo session. We aimed to create a refreshing set of beautiful images. Gabriella is a Toronto dancer and contortionist who performs at various acclaimed events and functions in the Toronto area. Check out her site http://www.torontocontortionist.com/
Lolë Clothing is Canadian made, high quality, athletic and yoga wear for women. Their brand is described as “bold and beautiful active wear clothing for women. Quality outerwear and ladies apparel to match your active lifestyle.” You can see and read more about their clothing on their website http://www.lolewomen.com/ca/en/
The Manager of the Lolë location at Square One (Mississauga, Ontario), Meaghan was very helpful and accommodating (as were the salesladies helping us with Gabriella’s fitting). We ended up photographing 3 outfits for the shoot. The session occurred outside the gorgeous Old Mill area in Toronto, on a Saturday morning.
Here are some of my favorite images from the shoot. We came up with a great variety of shots that would display the beauty, elegance, comfortable and fresh feel of both the clothing and dancer. My goal was to use the simplicity and textures in the background to enhance the ease and flow of Gabriella’s skills, while showing how Lolë offers easy wear clothing that is both flattering and natural on the body. This is clothing for various body types and heights, while enriching a woman’s confidence.
Gabby and I had so much fun working together. We had a great vibe and I was thankful that she trusted my vision.
A few more of the images can be found here on the lifestyle section of my site. Enjoy!

The soft lighting and calmness of the above photo is something I was drawn to.
Below is a shot I took with my phone (a Nexus 5. Yes, I will be upgrading my cell soon). I loved the black and white version of this shot. The photo portrays what I aim to create in my photography: beauty, textured backgrounds, camera angles that enhances the lines, and an elegant model that delivers a calmness to viewers.
