Behind The Scenes with Thompson Educational Publishing
Often people think that shooting musicians or ‘photographing famous people’ are the shoots that are most exciting for me. This is not often the case. Case in point, my shoot yesterday at Marguerite d’Youville Catholic School, in Ajax. Photographing these young students in their school environment, having fun and being active, was entertaining and fun! Read more about this important organization here- http://snip.ly/5wzzs.
This reminded me of my younger years when anything, or anyone, ‘out of the ordinary’ entered your school, and how exciting this can be. I suppose it is a break from the daily school routine that makes this fun for kids. The grade 3 children today were awesome, and thrilled to have their photograph taken. They seemed to think that they would be on TV from seeing my ‘big light’ and a professional camera. We had to correct them that they would not be on the evening news. They will have to settle for appearing on a website article!
Stay tuned for the story, but here is a ‘behind the scenes’, with yours truly, and my favorite model of the day (and awesome student), Marian. The article that will be featured on the Thompson website, talks about Marian, and OJ Tasse (Teacher and co-chair of D.E.C.A.A.), and how they have welcomed the Functional Fitness Charts in their school system. These charts were produced by Thompson, which combines exercise, athleticism and motivation in the schools. It is all very important, and I will post the article when it becomes live.
